Craft Council’s Sanmaan 2023

Chairperson Craftcouncil Ms Gita Ram is the chief guest at the Sanmaan 2023 an event organised to felicitate the changemakers in the field of crafts. The award ceremony will be held on 23 February followed by display and sale of crafts on February 23 & 25 at Kamala CCT Spaces, Road No 12, Banjara Hills. The event will also be attended by Ms Jaya Jaitley, founder Dastkari Haat who will be given the Lifetime Achievement Award. The other awardees include –

Gulam Taher Siddiqui is the present generation Bidri artist carrying forward the family legacy of the beautiful craft of Bidri.

Prakash Siju from Bhujodi, is a third-generation traditional weaver from the Marwada community of Kutch

Gurvinder Kaur Gundev is a PhD Scholar, working towards reviving Phulkari

Gajam Madhavi belongs to Puttapaka village, who learnt the intricacies of ikat handloom weaving techniques from her husband Sri Gajam Narsimha and her father-in-law Sri Gajam Papaiah.

Patnam Subramanyam from Venkatagiri, who practices the old Jamdhani technique
Kalapuri Foundation represented by Atish Chavan.
Subhash Poyam from Kondagaon of Chattisgarh who has specialised in the metal craft of the region
Nagarjun Madavi is a Dokra Artisan from Adilabad Telangana
