Ram Gopal Varma Becomes the Mad Monster in New Film SHOWMAN
Legendary filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma is stepping into a new role — this time in front of the camera. Recently his pathbreaker Shiva4K re-released and made huge waves. Now, Varma, known for his bold storytelling and strong grip on gangster dramas, is playing the lead in his upcoming film SHOWMAN, which carries the striking tagline “Mad Monster.”
The project has already begun shooting quietly, building curiosity among fans and film lovers. Varma, who has spent decades shaping Indian cinema with films like Satya and Company, now takes on the challenge of portraying a powerful and unpredictable character on screen.
Adding more excitement to the film is the casting of popular actor Suman as the villain. Suman is remembered for his commanding performance as the antagonist in Rajinikanth’s blockbuster Sivaji. His presence is expected to bring intensity and depth to the film’s conflict.
SHOWMAN also marks the directorial debut of Nuthan, who has taken charge of story, dialogues, screenplay, and direction. Entering the industry with such a major project is a bold move, and expectations are high to see how he handles a genre closely linked with Varma’s signature style.
The film is produced by Thummalapalli Ramasatyanarayana under the Bhimavaram Talkies banner as Production No. 120, in association with a major corporate production house. The producer has previously worked with Varma on Ice Cream and Ice Cream 2, making this another significant collaboration.
Ramasatyanarayana revealed that the team is planning to release the film’s trailer during the Sankranti festival, giving fans a first look at the world of SHOWMAN.
The film brings together a strong team:
Hero: Ram Gopal Varma
Villain: Suman
Producer: Thummalapalli Ramasatyanarayana
Story, Dialogues, Screenplay, Direction: Nuthan
Banner: Bhimavaram talkies
With its gritty backdrop, powerful cast, and the unique combination of RGV’s presence both in spirit and on screen, SHOWMAN – Mad Monster is shaping up to be a gripping gangster drama. Audiences are eagerly waiting to see this unusual and daring entry in Varma’s long cinematic journey.
