Dulquer Salmaan and Pooja Hegde’s Sri Sri Promises a New-Age Romance

“Love will feel a little extra special with Sri Sri.”

That is the promise the makers have made, and judging by the film’s first look, audiences are more than ready to believe it.

Previously known by its working title DQ41, Dulquer Salmaan’s much-awaited multilingual project has officially been titled Sri Sri. Alongside the title announcement, the makers unveiled its first-look poster, introducing what appears to be a charming campus romance that blends youthful nostalgia, first love, and heartfelt emotions.

The poster instantly sets the tone. Dulquer Salmaan and Pooja Hegde appear relaxed, carefree, and completely immersed in each other’s company, hinting at a romance built on warmth rather than grand spectacle. Instead of dramatic action or larger-than-life visuals, the film embraces simplicity, suggesting that Sri Sri will celebrate the beauty of ordinary moments shared between two people.

One of the film’s biggest attractions is its lead pairing. This marks the first on-screen collaboration between Dulquer Salmaan and Pooja Hegde, a combination that has generated considerable excitement ever since the project was announced. Both actors have built careers portraying emotionally rich characters, making their pairing one of the freshest combinations in contemporary South Indian cinema.

Directed by Ravi Nelakuditi, Sri Sri is being produced by Sudhakar Cherukuri’s SLV Cinemas as the banner’s landmark tenth production. The film is planned as a multilingual release in Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, Hindi, and Kannada, underlining its ambition to connect with audiences across India.

Long before the title reveal, the project had already begun attracting attention during its traditional pooja ceremony in Hyderabad. Actor Nani graced the launch event and gave the ceremonial first clap, lending his support to the film. Directors Srikanth Odela and Buchi Babu Sana were also present, making the launch a memorable occasion for the cast and crew.

The excitement surrounding the film has steadily grown throughout production. Earlier this year, the team completed a major shooting schedule in scenic hill locations, with behind-the-scenes glimpses shared by Pooja Hegde offering fans a peek into the picturesque landscapes where much of the romance unfolds. The actress even joked about enjoying “coffee courtesy of Dulquer Salmaan,” giving audiences a glimpse of the warm camaraderie shared by the lead pair off-screen as well.

The supporting cast has also become stronger with the addition of veteran actor Jagapathi Babu, whose inclusion adds further depth to the romantic drama. While the makers continue to keep much of the storyline under wraps, the title announcement and first-look poster suggest a film rooted in youthful emotions, relationships, and the bittersweet memories of growing up.

For Dulquer Salmaan, Sri Sri marks another significant step in his growing Telugu journey after successfully balancing Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi cinema. For Pooja Hegde, it represents a major return to Telugu cinema in a full-fledged romantic role, making the project equally special for her fans.

In an era where romance often competes with larger-than-life action spectacles, Sri Sri appears to be embracing something refreshingly simple: two people, a campus, unforgettable memories, and a love story that hopes to linger long after the credits roll.

If its tagline is anything to go by, audiences may soon discover that love really does feel a little extra special with Sri Sri.
