Akhanda 2

Akhanda 2, starring Nandamuri Balakrishna, has also joined the list of delayed films. The makers had earlier announced a release in the last week of September, aiming to offer it as a Dasara gift. However, reports say that the VFX work will not be completed in time.

Big Telugu films have been facing regular delays in recent times. Even with top stars and timely shooting, many films are being postponed due to slow VFX (visual effects) work. The recent example is Kannappa, which was delayed by six months because the makers were not satisfied with the VFX and redid it.

Hari Hara Veera Mallu was supposed to release last month, but due to unfinished VFX, it’s now expected at the end of this month.

The shooting may finish by the end of this month, but the VFX company has informed the director during a recent team meeting that August completion is not possible. As a result, the team has slowed down shooting and is now considering a December release instead. There is talk that December 18 might be the target date, though an official confirmation is still pending.

Fans are eagerly waiting for this film, especially since the earlier collaborations between Balakrishna and director Boyapati Srinu—Simha, Legend, and Akhanda—were major hits.

Akhanda 2 is said to focus more deeply on Sanatana Dharma than the first part, which explored themes of Hindutva. Music is by Thaman, with Pragya Jaiswal as the heroine and Harshaali Malhotra playing a key role.

Delays due to VFX are becoming common in the industry, and fans are hoping the final result will be worth the wait.
