Cinema lovers in India are in for a packed week of entertainment from 22 to 28 September 2025, with both theatres and OTT platforms offering a wide variety of film and OTT releases.
Theatrical Releases
On 26 September, Hollywood brings a mix of action, horror and animation. The highlights include Shin chan: The Spicy Kasukabe Dancers in India, Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc, The Strangers Chapter 2, One Battle After Another, and the Russian film Guest from the Future.
Bollywood’s prime release of the week is Homebound, already creating buzz as India’s official entry for the Oscars. Other Hindi films releasing are Tu Meri Poori Kahani and Tara and Akash – Love Beyond Realm. The Hindi-dubbed versions of Shin chan and Telugu action drama They Call Him OG will also reach audiences.
Regional cinema will be equally strong. Marathi films Chhabi and Badmash hit screens, along with Malayalam titles Balti and Karam. Telugu fans get They Call Him OG, while Tamil audiences can watch Andha 7 Naatkal, Kutram Thavir, and Kiss Me Idiot. Kannada cinema releases Kunte Bille, and Bengali cinema sees four titles including Raghu Dakat and Raktabeej 2.
OTT Releases
Netflix leads with a busy line-up: Blippi’s Job Show S2 (22 Sept), Cristela Alonzo – Upper Classy (23 Sept), Hindi drama The Guest (24 Sept), and Alice in Borderland S3 (25 Sept). Other notable arrivals are House of Guinness, Wayward, and Pokémon Horizons S2 (26 Sept).
Amazon Prime and MX Player bring Sixer S2 (24 Sept), Italian drama Hotel Costiera (24 Sept), crime thriller Cocaine Quarterback (25 Sept), and chat show Two Much With Kajol and Twinkle (25 Sept). Apple TV+ premieres Slow Horses S5 (24 Sept) and The Savant (26 Sept).
For OTT original films, Netflix debuts French Lover and Ruth & Boaz on 26 September, while Apple TV+ releases All of You. ZEE5 launches Janaawar, and Lionsgate Films offers Dangerous Animals the same day.
With so many choices, audiences can enjoy everything from comedy to crime thriller film and OTT releases—whether in cinemas or from the comfort of home.
