Dramatic Circle Hyderabad (DCH) will be performing Neil Simon’s Neil Simon Broadway and Westend Hit comedy ‘The Sunshine Boys’ on 17th and 18th January, 2026 at Rangbhoomi Spaces, Hyderabad and Directed by veteran Director Pranava Singhal.
‘Sunshine Boys’ is a classic Neil Simon with a laugh-a-minute pace and a sentimental undertone. The plot revolves around two ageing actors, a Super-Star comedy duo for four decades, but who split–up bitterly, coming together again for a ‘Retro’ shoot, and the sparks that fly. Just beneath the laughter, however there are the subtly touching human themes of ageing, past stardom, and life’s bonds.
Produced in the ‘70s and again revived in the late ‘90s, the play was a huge hit both times, and was also produced as a TV movie, and again as an MGM film.
The play has been a hit with both audiences as well as critics, and its various productions have been nominated for 4 Oscars (1 Award), 4 Golden Globes (1 Award), and 3 Tonys (1award), and has had in its cast in various productions, Walter Matthau, George Burns, Jack Lemmon, Woody Allen, Whoopi Goldberg, and Sarah Jessica Parker.
