Jinguchaa composed by Oscar-winner AR Rahman and penned by Kamal Haasan is already on top of charts, and now the Telugu version is out for the fans to rejoice
The much-anticipated gangster action drama Thug Life, directed by legendary filmmaker Mani Ratnam and starring the iconic Kamal Haasan, has officially begun its musical journey in Telugu with the release of its first single, Jinguchaa. Composed by Oscar-winner A.R. Rahman and penned by Kamal Haasan himself, the song has quickly taken over the charts and is trending across platforms.
Originally launched in Tamil on April 18 at a glitzy event in Chennai, Jinguchaa immediately caught the attention of fans and music lovers alike. The Telugu version has now been unveiled, riding high on the wave of excitement generated by the original. The track has already climbed to the top of several music charts and is widely shared across social media, making it one of the hottest releases this season.
The Thug Life album, set for a full release on May 16, marks a rare and powerful reunion—nearly four decades after Nayakan (1987), Mani Ratnam, Kamal Haasan, and A.R. Rahman come together for a cinematic and musical spectacle. The film features a stellar cast including Silambarasan TR, Trisha Krishnan, Ashok Selvan, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Joju George, Pankaj Tripathi, Ali Fazal, Sanya Malhotra, and Nassar.
Shot across diverse Indian locations like Chennai, Delhi, Pondicherry, and Kanchipuram, and internationally in Serbia and parts of Europe, Thug Life has been in the making since January 2024. Despite minor delays, including Kamal Haasan’s political commitments and an injury to Joju George, the film wrapped principal photography by the end of 2024.
Produced by Raaj Kamal Films International, Madras Talkies, and Red Giant Movies, Thug Life is slated for a grand theatrical release worldwide on June 5. With no major Tamil releases clashing that weekend, all eyes are on this powerful comeback collaboration.
The Telugu version of Jinguchaa marks the start of the film’s promotions in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana—and if the buzz is anything to go by, this is only the beginning.
