Brand Strategist Kaveri Baruah Withdraws Claim About ‘42 Rules’ of Allu Arjun After Backlash
A recent controversy involving Telugu superstar Allu Arjun has taken a dramatic turn after a brand strategist publicly retracted her statement about the actor and issued an apology over claims that he imposed a list of “42 dos and don’ts” on people meeting him.
The controversy began earlier this month when brand strategist Kaveri Baruah appeared on the Sweekriti Talks podcast and claimed that she was given a strict set of “42 rules” to follow before meeting Allu Arjun. According to her remarks, which quickly went viral online, the alleged list included odd restrictions such as not looking the star in the eye and avoiding handshakes, leading to widespread discussion and criticism.
The claims sparked social media debate and drew attention from fans and critics alike, with many questioning whether such protocols were indeed real. Allu Arjun’s team soon responded, denouncing the allegations as “completely baseless and untrue” and emphasising that the actor had always conducted himself with dignity. They also warned that legal action was being pursued in response to the misinformation.
Facing the backlash, Kaveri Baruah took to her X account on 17 February to issue a detailed apology. In her statement she acknowledged that her original comments were made casually during conversation and were not grounded in any factual document or verified material. Kaveri Baruah clarified that neither Allu Arjun nor anyone acting on his behalf had ever issued such a list, and she sincerely regretted the confusion and reputational harm her remarks may have caused.
Baruah expressed her respect for the actor and formally withdrew the statements in their entirety. Her move to retract the claims appears to have been an attempt to “correct the record” after widespread criticism online and the threat of legal consequences.
The podcaster behind Sweekriti Talks also issued a clarification and apology, announcing that the episode containing the controversial remarks had been removed from YouTube and social platforms. She stressed that there had been no intention to defame or harm anyone, and urged followers to refrain from misrepresentation or harassment.
The episode serves as a reminder of how quickly unverified comments can escalate into major headlines in the age of social media. Allu Arjun, who has garnered acclaim for his work in films such as Pushpa 2: The Rule, continues his busy film schedule as discussions over the “42 rules” controversy finally begin to fade.
