Former Vice President of India Mr M. Venkaiah Naidu said that Ghantasala and Balu duo brought golden age to Telugu film music, enriched the Telugu song and enthroned the song in the hearts of Telugu people. He described the Balu idol as an eternal symbol of fans’ love for the artistic soul. On Monday, under the joint auspices of Telangana Government’s Department of Culture and The Music Group Cultural Association, the idol unveiling of Gana Gandharva Padmavibhushan late Dr. SP Bala Subrahmanyam was held at Ravindra Bharathi.
Venkaiah Naidu, former Governor, Bandaru Dattatreya, Telangana IT and Industries Minister and Duddilla Sridhar Babu participated and unveiled the bronze statue of SP Balasubrahmanyan as chief guests. M. Venkaiah Naidu called out to show respect for the language, respect Telugu people and get used to calling Telangana, Andhra Pradesh and Bala Subrahmanyam instead of TG, AP and SP. He said that Balasubrahmanyam was a talented, cultured, friendly with a perfect personality, and it is appropriate to place his statue next to the Ghantasala statue installed by him in Ravindra Bharathi.
Venkaiah Naidu said that Bala Subrahmanyam trained many young singers and sang Telugu songs with great respect for Telugu language and culture traditions. Former Governor Bandaru Dattatreya said Balu is an inspiration for generations, and Balu’s songs are immortal.
Art has no ageoo

Telangana IT and Industries Minister Mr Duddilla Sridhar Babu said that there is no language barrier for artists, especially music, and that music contributes a lot to personality development. To set up the statue of Balu, who spread the fame of Telugu to the world and trained hundreds of singers, in Kala Kendra Ravindra Bharathi, next to the Ghantasala statue erected by him, is a decision made by Revanth Reddy’s government and the respect given to the Telugu song. He said that it is an indelible mark in the history of film music. Minister Sridhar Babu said that Balu holds the record of singing more than 38 thousand songs in Hyderabad only. Balu’s son Mr SP Charan expressed tearful gratitude to the Telangana Government and people of Telangana for setting up the idol of Balu in Ravindra Bharathi. In this program BJP Telangana President N. Ramachander Rao, Mallu Prasad, Shanta Biotex Chairman Padmabhushan Dr. KI Varaprasad Reddy, Ramoji Group CEO Mr CH. Kiran, ETV CEO Mr Vijaya Bapinidu, Balu’s wife Smt SP Savitri, daughter SP Pallavi, younger sister SP Shailaja, Subhalekha Sudhakar, SP Parvathi, SP Vasantha and others were present on the ocassion.


Balu’s best friend Mr GV Murali and idol sculptor Udayar Rajakumar were felicitated. Actor Pradeep and Suma were the presenters for the event. Music Group President Achyuta Ramaraju, Secretary Mr B.S. Krishnamurthy, Vedula Sudarshan, Mr Dharmateja, Surekhamurthy and Ramachari coordinated the event. After the meeting, the music group performed a song tribute to SP Balasubrahmanyam and the consecration ceremony was held as a feast of Music. More than hundred cine singers participated and sang Balu’s songs. Film music directors MM Keeravani, Thaman, Manisharma, Madhavapeddi Satyam, Koti, R. P. Patnaik and others participated and paid tribute to the legend.
