Manoj Kumar Fondly Remembered Via His Films

Manoj Kumar – who became the Bharat Manoj Kumar with the film Upkaar has had decades of film career and umpteen films to his credit. Perhaps the 80s and 90s kids knew of him more from the films they watched on Doordarshan. The actor from the golden age of Indian cinema, who has had cult status with his brand of patriotic films – the Dada Saheb Phalke awardee passed away on April 4, 2025 leaving behind his legacy.

Some of his famous films include Hariyali Aur Raasta, Woh Kaun Thi?, Himalaya Ki God Mein, Do Badan, Patthar Ke Sanam, Shaheed and Roti Kapda Aur Makaan. In addition to romantic films like Honeymoon, Apna Banake Dekho, Naqli Nawab, Do Badan, Patthar Ke Sanam, Sajan and Sawan Ki Ghata – his patriotic films like Purab Aur Paschim, Upkar and Kranti – got him the moniker Bharat Kumar.
