Pranav Mohanlal’s ‘Dies Irae’ to premiere in Telugu on 7 November

Dies Irae

Pranav Mohanlal’s much-talked-about mystery-horror film Dies Irae is gearing up for its Telugu release through Sri Sravanthi Movies, with paid premieres scheduled for 7 November. Following the special screenings, Dies Irae will hit cinemas across Andhra Pradesh and Telangana on 8 November, aiming to recreate the magic of its Malayalam success.

Directed by Rahul Sadasivan, known for his gripping storytelling in Bhoothakaalam and Bhramayugam, Dies Irae promises a mix of suspense, emotion, and psychological horror. The Malayalam version, which released on 31 October, received rave reviews from critics and audiences alike, earning praise for its haunting visuals and Pranav’s standout performance.

The Telugu trailer, unveiled earlier this week, hints at an eerie tale set inside a lavish yet unsettling mansion. It opens with a mysterious figure holding a woman’s hair clip, followed by a chilling voice that declares: “When the sky and earth turn to ashes, the world will tremble with fear.” Without giving away much of the plot, the teaser successfully builds anticipation, offering glimpses of the film’s dark, atmospheric tone.

Dies Irae marks another bold step in Pranav Mohanlal’s evolving career, with his portrayal of the protagonist earning particular acclaim for its emotional depth and subtlety. The film also stars Sushmita Bhatt, Jibin Gopinath, Jaya Kurup, Manohari Joy, and Arun Ajikumar in key roles.

Produced by Chakravarthy Ramachandra and S. Sashikanth under Night Shift Studios in association with YNOT Studios, the film features music by Christo Xavier, whose score amplifies its tense, gothic atmosphere.

Having previously released acclaimed non-Telugu films like Pushpaka Vimana, Nayakudu, and Raghuvaran B.Tech, Sri Sravanthi Movies is confident that Dies Irae will captivate Telugu audiences just as it did in Kerala. With its gripping narrative and psychological intensity, the film is expected to be one of this season’s biggest cinematic highlights.
