Tamil and Malayalam film actress and dubbing artist Raveena Ravi has publicly accused individuals of relentlessly stalking and harassing her, along with her family and friends online for over three years, prompting her to seek urgent action from law enforcement and political leadership.
Raveena Ravi, known for her roles in films like Love Today and Maamannan, took to Instagram in a detailed post addressing the harassment she has endured since 2023. In the post, she shared images of two men she alleges are responsible for the abuse and appealed to the public for support in reporting and blocking their accounts. She described how one man, identified as Sabarish from Chennai, along with his twin brother, has repeatedly targeted her and her close circle through offensive messages, derogatory comments, and fabricated stories about prior meetings or “fixed marriage” scenarios.
“I am posting this to protect my family, my friends, and myself from a stalker who has been harassing us for three years,” Raveena wrote, underscoring that her earlier attempts to address the issue quietly through police complaints and warnings have failed to stop the harassment. Despite legal steps taken over the years, the abuse has persisted through a network of fake social media accounts, she said.
In her appeal, Raveena urged her followers and the public to block and report the accounts allegedly used by the accused and to remain cautious if they receive offensive messages linked to the individuals. She specifically cautioned against engaging with their comments or replies, stressing that interaction might embolden further attacks.
The actress also tagged prominent public figures and authorities in her post, including Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin and various police and cybercrime units, appealing for stronger action and protection. Raveena remarked that Chennai, often considered one of the safer cities in India for women, must uphold that reputation by ensuring such cyber harassment does not go unchecked.
Raveena’s revelations have resonated with broader discussions on online safety and cyber violence against women, highlighting how social media platforms can be weaponized for prolonged abuse. Experts and advocates have increasingly emphasized the need for more robust mechanisms to protect individuals—especially women in the public eye—from persistent digital harassment.
As the case unfolds, many in the film industry and her fan base have rallied behind Raveena, calling for swift legal and technological steps to end cyber stalking and safeguard personal dignity and mental well-being.
