The third season of The Summer I Turned Pretty has made a massive splash on Prime Video, recording a 40% rise in viewers compared to its second season. Released on 16 July, the first two episodes drew in 25 million unique viewers worldwide within just a week, making it the platform’s top title during its debut week.
Created by author Jenny Han and backed by a young cast including Lola Tung, Christopher Briney, and Gavin Casalegno, the teen drama has grown steadily since its first season. The emotional storyline, supported by Taylor Swift’s music, has helped the show build a strong connection with young audiences, especially women aged 18–34.
Jenny Han shared her excitement over the show’s popularity, saying, “It’s been amazing to see how the story has touched so many people, brought the books back to the bestseller lists, and sparked lively conversations online. I’m proud of what we’ve created.”
Season 3 follows Belly as she faces a tough decision between Jeremiah and Conrad, with adulthood and love pulling her in different directions. The final season promises heartfelt moments and difficult choices as the story comes to a close.
Amazon MGM Studios decided to continue the weekly release format for this season, just like they did with other major shows like Reacher and The Boys. Vernon Sanders, head of TV at Amazon, explained that this keeps viewers engaged longer and encourages weekly discussions within the fan community.
Before Season 3 launched, the team also issued a gentle reminder for fans to keep the conversation respectful, especially online. With the show’s wide fanbase, creators wanted to make sure there’s a clear line between the fictional characters and the real-life actors.
The first three episodes of The Summer I Turned Pretty Season 3 are now available to stream, with new episodes dropping every Wednesday. The series is available in English and five Indian languages.
