Tourism Minister invites CM for ‘Celebrate the Sky’ festivities

Minister for Tourism and Culture Jupally Krishna Rao called on Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Monday to extend a formal invitation for ‘Celebrate the Sky,’ a series of events organized by the State government to mark the Sankranti season. The initiative, scheduled from January 13 to 18, aims to provide a vibrant blend of traditional and contemporary aerial attractions, including kite flying, hot air balloon displays, and drone shows.
International Kite Festival
The festivities will commence with the International Kite and Sweet Festival at the Secunderabad Parade Grounds from January 13 to 15. Open to the public from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., the event will feature professional kite flyers from across the globe and a diverse showcase of traditional Indian confectionery. The program is designed to enhance the festive experience for residents while promoting Telangana’s cultural tourism.

The celebrations will transition to modern aerial spectacles in the latter half of the week. A Hot Air Balloon Festival is slated for the Parade Grounds from January 16 to 18, between 4 p.m. and 9 p.m. Additionally, a Drone Festival will be held at the Gachibowli Stadium on January 16 and 17, with displays scheduled from 9:30 a.m. to 8 p.m.

The ‘Celebrate the Sky’ initiative is part of the government’s efforts to introduce innovative event offerings and establish the city as a hub for cultural tourism. The Minister emphasized that these events are curated to bring people together and showcase the heritage of the State on an international platform.

During the meeting with the Chief Minister, Minister Jupally Krishna Rao was accompanied by Tourism and Culture Special Chief Secretary Jayesh Ranjan and Telangana State Tourism Development Corporation Managing Director Kranthi Valluri.
