Swathimuthyam – a cine, cultural, literary, and social service organization, hosted a grand felicitation ceremony honoring senior film journalists, photojournalists, and public relations officers (PROs). The event was held at the Telugu Film Producers’ Council meeting hall and brought together nearly forty industry veterans on one platform.
Organized under the leadership of film journalist and analyst Dheeraj Appaji, and supported by the Gidugu Ramamurthy Panthulu Foundation—named after the Father of the Telugu Spoken Language Movement—the event was a vibrant tribute to the voices and lenses that chronicled Telugu cinema over the decades.
The ceremony was graced by prominent personalities including actor Murali Mohan, MLC Smt. Surabhi Vani Devi, FNCC President and producer K.S. Rama Rao, Telugu Producers’ Council President K.L. Damodara Prasad, General Secretary Thummala Prasanna Kumar, Brahmashri L.V. Gangadhara Sastry, Smt. Gidugu Kantikrishna, filmmaker Kuchipudi Venkat, lyricist Bhaskarabhatla, mimicry artist Ramesh, Pakalapati Vijay Varma, Bazar Vijay, Celsius Systems – Home Elevators Srinivas, Cineteria Venkat, and Teluguplex CEO Kommidi Srinivas Reddy, among others.
Veterans including Smt. Patibandla Vijayalakshmi, Smt. Koganti Jamunarani, Samala Jaganmohana Rao (Jagan), U. Vinayak Rao, L.V. Gangadhara Sastry, Bhaskarabhatla, Prabhu, Mohan Goteti, Pasumarthi Nagendra Kumar, Rama Narayana Raju K., Eetaram Surya Prakash Reddy, V.S. Keshava Rao, Valluru Raghava Rao, Mamidipalli Giridhar, Rentala Jayadev, Battula Prasad, Nagabhairu Subbarao, Vaddi Om Prakash Narayana, Prasanna Pradeep, Ramana J.P.V., and Lanka Rambabu Varma were felicitated at the Swathimuthyam event.
Photojournalists Ramasai Ramesh, Itikala Janardhan Reddy, Gopishetti Srinivas, and Working Photojournalists Association leaders M.N. Bhushan and Vasu Sajja were also honored, alongside Film Critics Association President Suresh Kondeti and Film Journalists Association General Secretary Y.J. Rambabu.
The event was presided over by senior journalist, writer, and director Prabhu, and opened on a light-hearted note with mimicry artist Ramesh entertaining the audience with his signature impressions and comic flair.
Prominent attendees included producers Thummalapalli Rama Satyanarayana, film journalists Hema Sundar, Yagnamurthy, R.D.S. Prakash, Raghavendra Reddy, Pulagam Chinnarayana, Patibandla Vijayalakshmi, and many others such as director Nagu, M.D. Abdul, Shiva Mallala, Keshava, Ramanababu, Sripal, Lakshmi Pendyala, cartoonist-director Gandhi Manohar, Chitranjali J.P., director Sattibabu, coordinator Narayana, and co-director Renuka.
