The Telangana government has announced grand celebrations for Bathukamma 2025, the state’s iconic floral festival, with nine days of cultural events from September 21 to 30 under the Tourism Department. The official poster and T-shirts were unveiled at the Secretariat by Tourism and Culture Minister Jupally Krishna Rao, along with Environment Minister Konda Surekha and Panchayat Raj Minister Seethakka

 This year’s Bathukamma celebrations will begin.  at the historic Thousand Pillar Temple on    September 21, followed by a series of special programs    across Telangana. The highlight will   be a   mega Bathukamma event at LB Stadium    on September 28, organized with the aim of entering the  Guinness World Records. Adding to the grandeur, a spectacular Floating Bathukamma at Hussain Sagar will capture national attention, while large-scale celebrations with women’s self-help groups will take place at People’s Plaza.For the  first time, Bathukamma Welcome Dances will be performed on flights arriving from Delhi and Mumbai to Hyderabad, in collaboration with  airlines for National-level promotion of the festival.   In addition, Bathukamma will be celebrated in colleges across the state, ensuring that students are actively part of this cultural tradition.Telangana officials unveil Bathukamma festival T-shirts during a press meet in Hyderabad – Fridaywall Magazine coverage of Telangana’s floral festival celebrations

Speaking at the unveiling, Tourism Minister Jupally Krishna Rao said that the government is committed to organizing Bathukamma in a way that reflects Telangana’s cultural pride and traditions, while promoting the state’s tourism sector globally. Environment Minister Konda Surekha emphasized that Bathukamma is a festival unique to the world, symbolizing Telangana’s respect, community bonding, and women’s participation. She described it as a celebration where flowers and ponds are worshipped, and families come together in unity.       Panchayat Raj Minister Seethakka added that it is commendable that the Tourism Department is elevating Bathukamma as a world-class festival, ensuring today’s generation understands  its cultural significance.

The state government has also highlighted its     long-term vision to promote Telangana on the international tourism map. Having successfully hosted global events like Miss World, Telangana  now aims to create cultural showcases on par with the Rio Carnival in Brazil, blending tourism with local traditions to attract international visitors.

With its vibrant traditions, inclusive celebrations, and global promotion, Bathukamma 2025 is set to position Telangana’s floral festival as a cultural extravaganza of international recognition. Details of the celebration carried out by tourism department from 21st September to 30th September

The event will start on September 21st at the 1000 Pillar Temple, Warangal. From September 22nd onwards, celebrations will happen in 3-4 districts every day at important temples, tourism, and cultural places.

  2. Guinness World Record attempt with the maximum gathering of women (more than 10,000) on September 28th at LB Stadium.
