Yash’s Toxic Eyes Solo March Release Amid Reported Delays to Dhurandhar 2

Speculation is mounting within the film industry that Yash’s much-anticipated action drama Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups could enjoy a largely uncontested theatrical run on 19 March 2026. The development follows reports that the shoot of Dhurandhar 2, headlined by Ranveer Singh, has encountered setbacks, potentially affecting its planned release on the same date.

Originally, the two big-ticket films were expected to clash at the box office in what would have been one of the year’s most high-profile showdowns. However, industry insiders indicate that production hurdles, including permission issues for filming key sequences in Mumbai, have slowed progress on Dhurandhar 2. Should the Hindi action sequel fail to complete post-production in time, it may have to reconsider its March slot.

Meanwhile, director Geetu Mohandas has reaffirmed that Toxic remains firmly on course for its 19 March release. The filmmaker recently unveiled a new poster confirming that there is no change to the schedule, putting to rest rumours of a postponement. The date coincides with several festive occasions, including Eid and Ugadi, a strategic window often favoured for major releases given heightened cinema footfall.

Toxic, described as a gritty and stylised action narrative, marks one of Yash’s most ambitious projects since the monumental success of the K.G.F. franchise. The film is being mounted as a pan-India release across multiple languages, reflecting the actor’s expanding nationwide appeal. Trade observers note that distribution agreements were finalised well in advance, underscoring the producers’ confidence in the chosen release window.

A teaser is scheduled to drop on 20 February, a move expected to further intensify anticipation ahead of the March premiere. Early promotional material hints at a darker, character-driven storyline, positioning the film as a departure from conventional commercial entertainers.

For exhibitors, the prospect of Toxic arriving without a major Hindi competitor on the same weekend could prove advantageous. A solo release would likely secure wider screen allocation and stronger opening occupancy across territories.

While there has been no official confirmation from the makers of Dhurandhar 2 regarding a delay, the coming weeks will be crucial in determining whether the anticipated clash materialises. Until then, all eyes remain on Toxic as it prepares for what could be a significant moment at the box office this spring.
