Kartikeya ‘s films have always struck a chord with viewers. Bhaje Vaayu Vegam aims to catch audience attention with some thrills & suspense writes Rajeshwari Kalyanam
The film begins with a nicely crafted scene in a police station – the outcome of the scene is an FIR that incriminates the accused in a bunch of cases – and then the camera pans to – yes you guessed it right – there is our hero sitting – angry & uncaring as he signs the FIR accepting the crimes.
Cut to flash back hero loses his farmer parents to suicide – and he is saved by a good Samaritan who takes him home treats him like his second child, treats both the children equally and spends all his money to support his dream of becoming a cricketer. Both the brothers leave to City to make it big – where life takes a different turn.
However, to keep the father happy – they maintain a facade of being successful whenever he visits city.
As is evident the unbecoming of the film ‘Bhaje Vaayu Vegam” is its painfully predictable storyline & the linear storytelling.
Kartikeya ‘s films despite their success rates have always struck a chord at some level. But, Bhaje Vaayu Vegam unlike it’s name is extremely slow to begin with & vexes you as the film moves towards the interval introducing the heroine, villains and everyone in between.
If you are patient enough to sit through the film until now – then the film will actually catch on some vegam.
