Marking two years in South India, FlixBus India to add 60+ buses to/from Hyderabad as part of 120 new buses across the southern network in Q3-Q4; over 50% of its network now spans South India
lixBus India, the global travel-tech company, has recorded 159% year-on-year network growth in Hyderabad in September 2026 compared with September 2025, as the city continues to grow within its South India network. More than 50% of FlixBus India’s network now spans South India, with 120 additional buses set to be added across the southern network in Q3-Q4, including 60+ buses operating from/to Hyderabad.
Marking two years of operations in South India, FlixBus India is further expanding its Hyderabad network with the launch of a new Hyderabad–Pondicherry connection. The Volvo sleeper service will cover an approximately 1,800-km round trip and will also connect travellers to Tiruvannamalai, one of South India’s prominent temple destinations, creating a new inter-state travel option from Hyderabad to key destinations across Tamil Nadu.
FlixBus entered South India in September 2024 with its initial network connecting Bengaluru with Chennai and Hyderabad. Over the past two years, the company has expanded its presence across the region, connecting major urban centres with regional and leisure destinations.
Alongside the Hyderabad–Pondicherry route, FlixBus is set to launch new connections to Guntur, Coonoor and Ooty, further expanding its network across Telangana, Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu. The addition of 120 buses during Q3-Q4 will also increase capacity across the southern network and support the expansion of existing and new routes.
Surya Khurana, Managing Director, FlixBus India, said:
“Over the past two years, South India has demonstrated the depth and diversity of the intercity mobility opportunity, with cities such as Hyderabad emerging as important points of connectivity within the wider network. Our focus has been on building a scalable model that brings together local operating expertise with Flix’s technology and network capabilities to connect more cities and destinations. As we enter the next phase of our journey, we remain focused on deepening this network and contributing to a more connected and accessible intercity mobility ecosystem in India.”
The upcoming additions will strengthen connections between cities across South India while expanding access to popular leisure destinations. For Hyderabad, the new Pondicherry connection adds to the city’s inter-state connectivity, while the wider network expansion will create additional travel options for passengers across the region.
As FlixBus enters its third year in South India, the company will continue to work with local bus operators and leverage its technology platform across network planning, pricing, digital customer experience and passenger services. The expansion is part of FlixBus India’s broader focus on building a connected intercity mobility network across India.
