Chaitanya Rao, who shot to fame with his appearance in Keedaa Cola and Annapurna Photo Studio, is back in action with a relationship comedy Honeymoon Express, where he shares screen space alongside Hebah Patel. The film is helmed by Bala Rajasekharuni and bankrolled by New Reel India Entertainments (KKR and Bala Raj). Kalyani Malik and RP Patnaik compose the songs and the background score respectively.
The film, which was in the news recently for its title track, is releasing in theatres on June 21. The teaser of the film was launched in the presence of actress and academician Amala Akkineni in the Annapurna College of Film and Media premises earlier this week. The story revolves around the highs and lows in the life of a newly married couple.
The director Bala recollected how Amala and Nagarjuna Akkineni brought him back to India from the USA and appointed him as the Dean of Annapurna College of Film and Media. He thanked them for their encouragement towards his debut film and stated that the college faculty, students and alumni formed his main crew.
Amala expressed her gratitude to Bala Rajasekharuni for giving the college students, faculty a peek into life in the industry and wished him well for the film. She called it a relevant film that reflects the current generation’s perspectives towards marital relationships. Tanikella Bharani, Suhasini, Arvind Krishna, Ali, Surekha Vani, Ravi Varma play other important roles. Sistla VMK is the cinematographer and the art director.
