In a welcome move for night owls and food lovers, the Telangana Government has extended shopping hours during Ramzan 2026.

Hyderabad’s Ramzan nights are known for their electric energy, glowing bazaars, sizzling kebabs, and streets alive with conversation. This year, the city has another reason to celebrate. The Telangana Government has officially allowed shops and commercial establishments to remain open till 5 AM during Ramzan 2026, ensuring that Hyderabad’s beloved late-night culture continues uninterrupted.

For Hyderabadis, Ramzan is more than a religious observance; it is a season when the city transforms after sunset. As families break their fast with Iftar and the night gradually unfolds, markets begin to buzz with shoppers, food enthusiasts, and visitors exploring the festive atmosphere.

Recognising the city’s unique rhythm, the Telangana Government has granted extended operating hours to commercial establishments, allowing shops to remain open until the early hours of the morning during the Ramzan period. The decision comes as a welcome relief to traders, street vendors, restaurateurs, and retail businesses who depend heavily on the surge of late-night footfall during the holy month.

Areas around Charminar, Laad Bazaar, Madina Building, and the historic Old City markets are expected to witness the usual Ramzan magic, from glittering bangles and embroidered kurtas to the irresistible aroma of haleem, kebabs, and freshly baked sheermal. Food streets and retail hubs across Hyderabad will now be able to cater to crowds well past midnight, creating a vibrant blend of devotion, celebration, and commerce.

Under the official Ramzan guidelines issued by the state, shops can operate till 5 AM provided they comply with local law and order regulations and municipal norms. Authorities have also emphasised coordination with police and civic bodies to ensure that the extended hours remain safe and well-regulated.

For businesses, this seasonal relaxation offers an opportunity to maximise festive sales. For residents, it means leisurely night-time shopping, long food trails with friends, and the joy of experiencing Hyderabad’s iconic Ramzan atmosphere without rushing against closing hours.

With the city’s streets set to stay awake longer, Ramzan 2026 promises to bring back Hyderabad’s signature midnight charm. From food lovers chasing the best haleem to families strolling through glittering bazaars, the extended hours are set to make the holy month even more memorable for Hyderabadis.
