Mumbai to Host Third Red Lorry Film Festival With Over 120 Films
Mumbai is set to become a vibrant hub of cinema in mid‑March as the third edition of the Red Lorry Film Festival (RLFF) returns with an ambitious and diverse programme of films. Running from 13 to 15 March 2026, the festival will showcase more than 120 films from around the world, offering audiences a rare opportunity to experience a broad spectrum of storytelling in one place.
Organised by ticketing platform BookMyShow, the Red Lorry Film Festival has quickly established itself as an emerging highlight on India’s cultural calendar. In just two editions, it has attracted attention for its carefully chosen selections and inclusive approach to global cinema. This year’s edition continues that trend with a mix of international releases, acclaimed arthouse films, mainstream favourites and restored classics.
Among the films set to be screened are high‑profile titles such as Bradley Cooper’s latest directorial effort Is This Thing On?, gripping thrillers like Safe House and acclaimed international dramas including the French film Nino. The variety in genres reflects the festival’s intent to appeal to a wide audience while preserving artistic integrity.
A special “Legacy Rewind” section will pay homage to influential films from Indian cinema’s past, giving younger audiences a chance to see classics and restored titles on the big screen. The festival will also put a spotlight on Marathi cinema, acknowledging the rich contribution of regional film culture to India’s larger cinematic landscape.
In addition to screenings, the Red Lorry Film Festival will host masterclasses and panel discussions, bringing directors, actors, and industry professionals together to share insights about filmmaking and the changing nature of cinema. Gala events and a red‑carpet opening further underline the festival’s growing stature as a must‑attend cultural event.
Festival director Ashish Saksena has emphasised that RLFF aims to deepen audiences’ appreciation of world cinema and create a space where thoughtful curation meets enthusiastic viewership. As international films become more accessible through streaming services, the festival experience offers something different — the shared joy of watching cinema in a theatrical setting.
With fresh films, tributes to cinema history and lively discussions planned over three days, the Red Lorry Film Festival promises to be a celebration of storytelling that bridges cultures and generations.
