In a night that will stay memorable, Thailand’s Opal Suchata was crowned the 72nd Miss World in a breathtaking grand finale held at the HITEX Exhibition Centre, Hyderabad, marking a proud moment for both India and the global Miss World community.
Hosted for the first time in Telangana and for the third time in India (after 1996 and 2024), the Miss World 2025 Festival turned Hyderabad into a cultural and global spotlight. The month-long extravaganza featured 108 contestants from around the world engaging in cultural immersions, social outreach, and purpose-led leadership events – all culminating in a glittering finale that celebrated beauty, purpose, and womanhood. On the jury in addition to former Miss World Manushi Chillar were actor philanthropist Sonu Sood, Special Chief Secretary with ITE&C with Telangana Government Jayesh Ranjan, actor Namrata Ghattamaneni, actor and entrepreneur Rana Daggubati, philanthropist Sudha Reddy and Julia Morley, chairperson, Miss World. Special guests at the event along with Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy who attended the event with wife were actors Chiranjeevi, Vijay devarakonda and producer, distributer Dil Raju with family.
Miss India Nandita Gupta who won the model round made it to the quarter finals before Miss Thailand and Miss Phillipines made it to the continent queens round.
Opal Suchata Becomes Miss World 2025
Radiant and purposeful, Opal Suchata from Thailand was crowned Miss World 2025 by her predecessor, Krystyna Pyszková of Czechia. The coronation moment received thunderous applause as Opal stood as a symbol of compassion, courage, and change.
“This is not just a personal victory but a shared dream,” Opal said in her first speech. “As Miss World 2025, I will use my voice and platform to create meaningful change.”
Star-Studded Finale with Global Performances
Co-hosted by Stephanie Del Valle (Miss World 2016) and Indian presenter Sachiin Kumbhar, the grand event was a dazzling fusion of glamour and advocacy. Bollywood stars Jacqueline Fernandez and Ishaan Khatter set the stage ablaze with electrifying performances, adding a vibrant Indian flair to the global pageant.
Sonu Sood Honoured with Miss World Humanitarian Award
In a touching highlight, Indian actor and philanthropist Sonu Sood was honoured with the Miss World Humanitarian Award 2025, recognizing his relentless humanitarian work. Entrepreneur and philanthropist Sudha Reddy, who earlier hosted the Beauty With a Purpose Gala Dinner, was named the Global Ambassador for Beauty With a Purpose.
