Miss World Contestants Celebrate Telangana Culture at Pillalamarri, Mahbubnagar

The team departed Hyderabad in a special bus and arrived in Mahbubnagar by 5 PM. Upon arrival at Pillalamarri, they were welcomed with colorful performances showcasing the spirit of Telangana festivals. Dancers in traditional attire performed folk routines that captured the attention and admiration of the international guests.
Temple Visits and Cultural Immersion
The tour began with prayers at the temples of Sri Rajarajeshwari and Lord Ramalingeswara Swamy. The contestants then visited the on-site museum, absorbing historical insights about the region.
Interactive Folk Dances: Bonalu and Banjara
A true cultural exchange unfolded when the contestants participated in Bonalu celebrations and joined tribal women in the Banjara dance. Their enthusiastic involvement turned the event into a vibrant and memorable celebration of Telangana’s living traditions.
Exploring the Legendary Mahavriksha of Pillalamarri
The delegates were introduced to the famed Mahavriksha (Great Banyan Tree) of Pillalamarri. Forest Department officials explained its ancient roots and the ecological restoration efforts underway to preserve this green landmark.
Showcasing Handlooms and Crafts
The contestants also explored stalls exhibiting Telangana’s textile heritage—featuring Narayanpet and Gadwal handwoven saris, traditional handicrafts, and local artworks. These stalls highlighted the creativity and craftsmanship of local artisans.

The visit concluded with a group photograph near the iconic Bans tree, symbolizing unity in diversity and the spirit of cultural harmony.
