Pawan Kalyan on Funding Criticism: “Ask Former CMs, Not Me”
Pawan Kalyan Responds to Criticism, Clarifies Stand on Funding for Public Issues
Actor-turned-politician and Jana Sena Party Chief Pawan Kalyan has addressed recent remarks questioning his ability and responsibility to provide financial assistance for public issues. Speaking on the matter, he stressed that while some expect him to use his personal earnings from films to resolve societal problems, such expectations are misplaced and unfair.
“Mīrēmō nannu cinemālū chēsi samasyala pariṣkārāniki nidhulu ivvamaṇṭāru. Idē māṭa gata mukhyamantrini aḍagaḷasindi. Vāḷḷa daggara unṭāyi, nā daggara ēṃ unṭāyi?” Pawan Kalyan stated, implying that elected leaders, not private individuals, hold the responsibility and access to public resources needed for large-scale problem-solving.
His strong statement sheds light on a recurring misconception, that celebrities or public figures with fame should personally finance welfare activities. Pawan Kalyan pointed out that government leaders have access to taxpayer funds, allocated budgets, and administrative mechanisms, whereas private individuals like him do not.
He further clarified that his role as a political leader is to represent the people’s concerns, advocate for reforms, and push the government to take action, not to personally fund every solution. “Leadership is about driving policy, ensuring accountability, and empowering the system to work for the people,” he emphasized in earlier speeches.
The Jana Sena Chief has often contributed personally to social causes, disaster relief, and charity, yet he maintains that such efforts cannot replace structured governance. His latest comments appear to be a response to critics who question his political seriousness due to his ongoing film commitments.
He stressed that making movies is his profession and a source of income, just as other politicians have their own financial backgrounds. What matters, he added, is intent, integrity, and dedication toward public service.
Pawan Kalyan’s remarks have sparked discussion on social media, with supporters echoing his view that systemic issues require government action, not personal charity. Many netizens expressed that while philanthropy is commendable, it is not a substitute for governance.
As the political landscape heats up ahead of upcoming elections, Pawan Kalyan’s bold clarity is being seen as both a defense and a reminder, that political responsibility lies with those in power, not merely with those in the public eye.
