Quiet Week at the Box Office, Busy Days on Streaming Platforms: Entertainment Release Calendar of Week (Feb 2–8, 2026)

The first full week of February 2026 presents a mixed bag for moviegoers and binge-watchers alike. While theatrical releases remain relatively limited at the national level, regional cinema steps up with an impressive slate of films across languages. On the digital front, OTT platforms are far more active, rolling out new series and original films to keep audiences engaged.

Notably, there are no movie screenings scheduled for the week and no direct-to-OTT premieres announced outside the standard entertainment release calendar. The primary theatrical release date to watch out for is 6th February 2026.

Theatrical Releases: February 6, 2026

In Hollywood, the week sees the release of ‘Scarlet’, backed by Universal Communications, marking the sole major international theatrical offering.

Bollywood’s prime theatrical releases include ‘Vadh 2’, promoted by Spice, and the big-screen adaptation of the popular television comedy ‘Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain’. Non-prime Hindi releases include ‘Haunted 3D – Ghosts of the Past’ and ‘The Second Wind’, both arriving without confirmed PR representation.

There are no scheduled prime re-releases this week across Hollywood or Bollywood, nor any Hindi-dubbed prime theatrical titles.

Strong Regional Line-Up

Regional cinema dominates the theatrical landscape this week. Marathi audiences will have multiple options, including ‘Lagnacha Shot’, ‘Rubaab’, ‘Case No. 73’, ‘Trijya’, and the delayed historical release ‘Ranapati Shivray – Swari Agra’, promoted by Media One.

Gujarati cinema is represented by ‘Lagan Laagii Re’, while Malayalam cinema delivers a packed slate with ‘Anomie – The Equation of Death’, ‘Sukran’, ‘Kaalam Paranja Kadha’, ‘Ashakal Aayiram’, and ‘Madhanamoham’.

Telugu moviegoers are spoiled for choice with eleven releases, including ‘Euphoria’, ‘Operation Padma’, ‘Blood Roses’, ‘Honey’, ‘Sri Chidambaram Garu’, ‘Chaiwala’, and ‘Sky’, among others. Tamil cinema contributes ‘Red Label’, ‘Sweety Naughty Crazy’, ‘Yogida’, and ‘Gilli Mappilai’.

Kannada releases form one of the largest clusters with eleven films such as ‘Karikaada’, ‘JC the University’, ‘Non Veg’, ‘Sarkari Shale H8’, and ‘Devanobba Jadugara’. Bengali cinema adds ‘OCD’ and ‘Khancha’ to the mix.

OTT Releases: Series and Films

Streaming platforms remain the week’s biggest draw. Netflix leads with ‘Cash Queens’ and ‘The Lincoln Lawyer Season 4’ on February 5, followed by Spanish series ‘Salvador’ on February 6. Netflix also premieres the original film ‘Queen of Chess’ on the same day.

Sony LIV will release the Hindi series ‘Jazz City’ on February 6, while Z5 will add ‘Shabad – Reet Aur Riwaaz’ and the Hindi original film ‘Parasakthi’ on February 7.

Amazon Prime Video releases ‘Relationship Goals’ on February 4 and ‘Finding Harmony – A King’s Vision’ on February 6. It also hosts the Telugu theatrical-to-OTT release ‘Nari Nari Naduma Murari’, while JioStar streams ‘The Rajasaab’ on February 6.

Overall, while theatres see selective action, OTT platforms ensure viewers have plenty to watch throughout the week.
