Stuntman SM Raju sadly lost his life while performing a car chase scene filming for Sarpatta Parambarai sequel. The stunt went wrong when the car he was in lost control, flipped from a height, and crashed. Raju died on the spot due to serious injuries.
Eyewitnesses said the crew ran to help him after the shot, but he had already passed away. Some people blame the incident on a lack of proper safety precautions.
Raju was a well-known stunt artist with years of experience in the film industry. His sudden death has left many in shock. In recent years, action scenes in Indian films have become more realistic. Unlike in old movies—where a hero’s single punch could defeat a group of villains—modern films show detailed, believable fight scenes. To make this happen, actors, stunt performers, and fight masters train hard and take big risks.
Rope stunts, chase scenes, and high jumps are now common, but they come with danger. Many actors and stuntmen have been injured during such shoots. Raju’s death is a painful reminder of the risks involved in stunt work.
Following the accident, which caused stuntman SM Raju death, the shooting of the Sarpatta Parambarai sequel was stopped. The team said they will announce the next schedule soon.
