11 Things You May Have Missed This Week

From major fashion partnerships and celebrity comebacks to new film projects, fragrance campaigns and long-awaited pop-culture reunions, this week delivered plenty of headlines.

Some announcements dominated social media, while others quietly signalled bigger shifts in fashion, entertainment and popular culture. So, before the week disappears into the scroll, here are the stories you may have missed.

Reliance Brands Brings SKIMS to India

One of the week’s biggest fashion-business announcements came from Reliance Brands Limited, which has entered into an exclusive partnership with SKIMS, the shapewear and lifestyle label founded by Kim Kardashian, to bring the brand to India.

The partnership is expected to initially establish SKIMS in Delhi and Mumbai, with the brand becoming available through both physical and digital channels. The move is significant for India’s rapidly expanding premium fashion and shapewear market, particularly as younger consumers increasingly discover international labels through social media. SKIMS, founded in 2019, has expanded rapidly across international markets and was valued at around $5 billion following its latest major funding round. The Indian launch also fits into Reliance Retail’s broader strategy of bringing influential global fashion and beauty brands to Indian consumers.

Imran Khan Is Finally Making His Comeback

After stepping away from acting for roughly a decade, Imran Khan is preparing to return to the screen with Adhure Hum Adhure Tum. The actor’s comeback has been one of Bollywood’s most anticipated for years, particularly because his last theatrical appearance was in Katti Batti in 2015. The Netflix project was completed some time ago, but its release has faced delays and uncertainty, with the film notably absent from Netflix India’s 2026 slate announcement. Reports have indicated that the project remains with Netflix while internal scheduling and logistical issues are being worked out.

The film is expected to present Khan in a more mature romantic-comedy space, making the comeback particularly interesting for audiences who remember him from films such as Jaane Tu… Ya Jaane Na, I Hate Luv Storys and Delhi Belly. After years away from the spotlight, his return has already generated considerable nostalgia.

Khushi Kapoor Becomes the Face of Cava Athleisure

Indian athleisure label Cava has brought actor Khushi Kapoor on board as the face of the brand, adding another major celebrity association to India’s rapidly growing activewear market.

The partnership positions Khushi within a fashion category increasingly driven by the overlap between workout clothing, streetwear and everyday dressing. For a younger generation, athleisure is no longer restricted to gyms or running tracks; leggings, coordinated sets, oversized jackets and performance-inspired separates have become part of everyday wardrobes.

Khushi’s youthful fashion identity and strong digital presence make the collaboration a natural fit for a brand attempting to strengthen its connection with India’s Gen Z and millennial consumers.

Jonathan Bailey Becomes the Face of Armani’s I Will

Giorgio Armani has chosen Bridgerton and Wicked star Jonathan Bailey as the face of its new men’s fragrance, I Will. The launch is particularly significant because it marks Armani’s first major new masculine fragrance in more than two decades. The scent combines bergamot and lavender with warmer notes including vanilla, leather and earthy woods, creating a fragrance built around contrasts between freshness, warmth and intensity.

The campaign, directed by filmmaker Todd Field, revolves around ideas of determination and self-belief, fitting neatly with the fragrance’s “I Will” philosophy. The project also carries a personal significance for Bailey because the late Giorgio Armani was involved in the development of the fragrance before his death in 2025. The perfume reportedly took more than four years and around 2,800 trials to develop.

The Devil Wears Prada 2 Is Turning Its Wardrobe Into a Charity Auction

Fashion fans now have the chance to own a piece of The Devil Wears Prada 2. Christie’s New York is preparing an auction of costumes and accessories from the sequel, with proceeds benefiting the Committee to Protect Journalists (CPJ) and the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA).

The online sale will run from September 1 to 15, while a public exhibition of selected pieces will take place at Christie’s New York headquarters from September 8 to 13. Among the highlights are Anne Hathaway’s food-stained Gabriela Hearst dress, Meryl Streep’s Dries Van Noten tassel jacket, Emily Blunt’s Tiffany & Co. cuff and additional pieces worn by Simone Ashley and Lady Gaga.

The auction is particularly fitting for a film that places fashion and journalism at the centre of its story. The Devil Wears Prada 2, released in May 2026, reunited Streep, Hathaway, Blunt and Stanley Tucci nearly two decades after the original.

Alanna Panday Announces Her Second Pregnancy

Model and digital creator Alanna Panday and her husband Ivor McCray have announced that they are expecting their second child. The couple shared the news with followers this week, turning the announcement into another public milestone in their journey as parents. The news also prompted affectionate reactions from members of the Panday family, including cousins Ananya Panday and Ahaan Panday, who celebrated the growing family.

For Alanna, whose personal life has frequently intersected with her digital career, the announcement quickly became one of the week’s more widely shared celebrity updates.

Madison Beer Is Engaged

Pop singer Madison Beer has announced her engagement to Los Angeles Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert.  Beer shared the news on Instagram with the simple caption “Meet my fiancé,” accompanied by photographs from the proposal and images of her engagement ring. The announcement came after the pair’s relationship had gradually become more public over the past year, with appearances at sporting events and other public outings fueling interest in their romance.

The engagement adds another major personal milestone to Beer’s increasingly prominent career as a singer and songwriter, while Herbert continues to establish himself as one of the NFL’s leading quarterbacks.

Anne Hathaway Boards Yesteryear

Anne Hathaway is taking on another ambitious project with Yesteryear, a satirical thriller adapted from Caro Claire Burke’s bestselling debut novel.

Hathaway is attached not only to star in the project but also to produce it. Burke’s novel centres on Natalie Heller Mills, a trad-wife influencer who is transported back to 1855, forcing her carefully constructed online ideology to confront the realities of the historical world she romanticised.

The book became a major publishing phenomenon, selling more than a million copies and spending 17 weeks at the top of The New York Times bestseller list. Amazon MGM has optioned the film adaptation, with Hathaway attached to the project.

The premise gives Hathaway a role with plenty of satirical potential while allowing the film to explore misinformation, politics, social media performance and competing ideas about womanhood.

A Gilmore Girls Documentary Is in the Works

Stars Hollow is returning to our screens, this time through a documentary. A new Gilmore Girls documentary is in development for HBO Max as the beloved series celebrates its 25th anniversary. Directed by Bonni Cohen, the documentary will include never-before-seen behind-the-scenes footage, outtakes and original script pages, alongside new interviews with creator Amy Sherman-Palladino, Lauren Graham and other cast and crew members.

The original series ran from 2000 to 2007 and later returned for Netflix’s 2016 revival, Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life. The documentary offers another opportunity to revisit the making of one of television’s most enduring mother-daughter stories  and, hopefully, some of the behind-the-scenes moments fans have never seen.

Mirzapur: The Movie Is Expanding the Franchise

The Mirzapur universe is moving from streaming to the big screen with Mirzapur: The Movie, but the project represents more than simply another chapter in the popular crime saga.

The film is also connected to the launch of XL Music, a new music label associated with Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani’s Excel Entertainment and backed by Universal Music Group.

That makes the project an interesting intersection of cinema and music-business expansion. The Mirzapur franchise has already demonstrated the power of streaming to turn characters, dialogues and songs into pop-culture phenomena, and the theatrical film now has the opportunity to translate that established fan base into a big-screen event.

The expansion also signals Excel Entertainment’s ambition to build a broader entertainment ecosystem around its film properties rather than treating each project as an isolated release.

John Abraham Becomes ARMAF’s Global Face

Fragrance brand ARMAF has named John Abraham as the global brand ambassador for Club de Nuit Intense Overdose, giving the latest addition to its flagship fragrance family a distinctly Indian face.

The campaign is built around the idea of intensity, confidence and presence, qualities the brand says are central to the Overdose identity. The fragrance itself develops the signature Club de Nuit Intense profile in a richer direction, with notes including bergamot, tangerine and pineapple at the opening, followed by vanilla flower, oakmoss and plum before settling into amber, patchouli and tonka bean.

For John Abraham, whose public image has long been associated with understated masculinity and a strong fitness aesthetic, the partnership fits naturally into the fragrance’s positioning. ARMAF’s decision to make him the face of the campaign also reflects the growing importance of Indian celebrities in global beauty and fragrance marketing.

And That’s the Week in Culture

From SKIMS entering India to Imran Khan returning after a decade, this week’s headlines reflected just how closely fashion, entertainment, celebrity culture and business now overlap.

A new Armani fragrance found its face in Jonathan Bailey. The Devil Wears Prada 2 turned its wardrobe into a philanthropic opportunity. Gilmore Girls prepared to revisit its own history. Mirzapur expanded beyond streaming. And John Abraham stepped into a new global fragrance role.

Some stories were major industry moves. Others were personal milestones. But together, they capture the cultural shifts, celebrity moments and entertainment developments that made this week worth paying attention to.
