Tanushree Dutta

Bollywood actress Tanushree Dutta, known for starting the #MeToo movement in India, is back in the headlines. She recently shared a tearful video on Instagram, claiming she has been facing harassment at her own home for the past six years.

In the emotional video, Tanushree Dutta said, “I’m being harassed inside my own house. I can’t speak clearly or stay peaceful. I called the police, but they asked me to come to the station to file a complaint. I will try to go soon.” She added that people are entering her home and abusing her with offensive language.

She also said her health has worsened. “I can’t even hire a maid anymore. In the past, maids have stolen things. Now I do everything myself,” she explained. In another video, she recorded strange noises outside her home at night, saying these were part of the harassment and that she has not been able to sleep or stay calm.

The videos quickly went viral on social media. Some netizens showed sympathy and demanded immediate help from the police. They called the situation “heartbreaking” and questioned the lack of safety for a woman, especially a well-known actress.

However, many comments were cold and dismissive. Some users told her to “see a psychiatrist,” “get help,” or “stop the drama,” showing a lack of empathy.

Reports suggest that this harassment might be linked to the sexual harassment accusations she made in the past, especially against actor Nana Patekar.

Fans and human rights activists are calling for urgent support for Tanushree, reminding everyone that no one should be left to suffer in silence—especially not someone who once gave courage to many others to speak out.
