This Independence week, Amazon MX Player is bringing audiences an inspiring new series, Sena – Guardians of the Nation. The show will stream for free from 13 August, exclusively on Amazon’s ad-supported video platform.

Produced by The Viral Fever (TVF), directed by Abhinav Anand, and written by Anandeshwar Dwivedi, Sena tells the story of Kartik Sharma, a young man who turns down a promising career in California to join the Indian Armed Forces. His choice causes a rift with his father but sets him on a journey of grit, sacrifice, and survival.

The five-part series follows Kartik through the intense selection process for the Armed Forces Academy, his posting in the tense terrain of Kashmir, and his capture by militants. The story moves between past and present, exploring his training, fractured family ties, and the ultimate test of courage behind enemy lines.

The cast includes Vikram Singh Chauhan, Yashpal Sharma, Shirley Setia, Anandeshwar Dwivedi, Rahul Tewari, Vijay Vikram Singh, Anupam Bhattacharya, Neelu Dogra, and Funcho. It also features appearances by real-life military veterans such as former NSG commando Lucky Bisht, Colonel Rajeev Bharwan, Lt Col Kaushalendra Singh, Lt Col Paishal Manocha, Col RK Sharma, and Wing Commander Urvashi Rohilla.

Amogh Dusad, Director & Head of Content at Amazon MX Player, described the show as a tribute to soldiers who serve without hesitation. “It’s not just a war story – it’s about what it truly means to serve,” he said.

Vikram Singh Chauhan called playing Kartik “emotional and humbling”, adding that the role reminded him of the quiet courage real soldiers carry. Writer Anandeshwar Dwivedi said the series also touches on family relationships and the emotional cost of duty.

Vijay Koshy, President of TVF, said Sena is one of the most heartfelt stories they have told, focusing on “honour, pain, reconciliation, and unspoken bravery”.

Sena – Guardians of the Nation will be available via the MX Player app on mobile, connected TVs, the Amazon shopping app, Prime Video, Fire TV, and Airtel Xtreme.
