IIHM Founder Dr. Suborno Bose Launches Groundbreaking Book on AI in Hospitality and Announces the World’s First Hospitality Industry GPT. His new book explores AI’s impact on hospitality, while the announcement of the Hospitality GPT promises to revolutionize the industry with AI-powered insights.
Dr. Suborno Bose, Chairman of the International Institute of Hotel Management (IIHM), unveiled his third book, “Harmonizing Human Touch & AI Tourism and Hospitality,” at a grand launch event held on Thursday evening at the Radisson Hotel in Madhapur. The book explores the intersection of artificial intelligence (AI) and the hospitality industry, emphasizing how technology can enhance the guest experience while preserving the essential human touch.
The event was attended by several prominent industry veterans, including DGP Abhilasha Bisht, Amita Desai (Consul General, German Consulate), Gareth Owen (British Deputy High Commissioner), and many others.
Dr. Bose, a pioneer in integrating AI with hospitality education, presented the book as a comprehensive guide to the future of the hospitality industry. It takes an A-to-Z approach, with each letter representing a key process, demonstrating how AI can transform the industry by enhancing guest satisfaction, sustainability, and operational efficiency. The book covers topics such as predictive maintenance, sentiment analysis, and zero-waste initiatives, with real-world examples from global leaders in hospitality.
During the launch, Dr. Bose emphasized, “AI is not just about technology—it’s about humanity.” He further explained that the book’s goal is to highlight the importance of balancing technological advancements with human-centric values in hospitality. “This book underscores how AI can complement, rather than replace, the human essence of hospitality,” he said.
Dr. Bose also announced a significant leap forward for the hospitality industry with IIHM’s development of the world’s first Hospitality GPT (Generative Pre-trained Transformer), named NamAIste IIHM HospitalityGPT. This AI-powered platform, currently in its alpha testing phase, will be launched on April 24, 2025, by Union Tourism Minister Gajendra Singh Shekawat to coincide with International Hospitality Day.
“This will be a game-changer for the industry,” Dr. Bose declared. NamAIste HospitalityGPT will provide real-time insights, trends, and best practices for students, educators, and hospitality professionals, revolutionizing the way hospitality education and operations are conducted. The platform is being developed in collaboration with 50 countries and is expected to benefit over 100 countries globally. Dr. Bose highlighted the need for such a dedicated hospitality AI, noting that general AI models like ChatGPT often lack specialized knowledge in areas such as Nigerian wines.
The event also featured a roundtable discussion on AI in hospitality and tourism, where industry leaders discussed AI’s potential to drive productivity, sustainability, and profitability in the sector. Rupa Sree Bhuptapty, a Board Member at Google India and an AI & Robotics expert, shared her thoughts on the common fear surrounding new technologies. “When computers were introduced, people feared job losses, but it ultimately led to more opportunities. AI will do the same,” she said.
Dr. Bose echoed this sentiment, stating, “AI is not here to replace jobs; it is here to enhance productivity and sustainability. It is our responsibility to bring it to the industry.” Chef Dharmender Lamba, President of the Telangana Chefs Association, highlighted how AI could reduce food waste in hospitality operations, contributing to sustainability efforts.
The event attracted an impressive array of guests, including leaders from global hotel chains, hospitality associations, and the culinary world, all of whom were eager to learn about AI’s transformative potential in the hospitality sector.
Dr. Bose concluded, “IIHM has always been at the forefront of innovation in hospitality education, and with the launch of NamAIste, we are taking a historic step forward. This is the future of hospitality intelligence, and IIHM is leading the way.”
Under Dr. Bose’s leadership, IIHM has been instrumental in championing AI-driven advancements aimed at improving the quality, efficiency, and sustainability of hospitality operations, setting the stage for the industry’s next evolution.
