Hyderabad’s Priyanka Chiguruupati Makes a Striking Cannes Debut in Benaras Weave and Statement Jewellery

Hyderabad’s fashion and business circles had a proud Cannes moment as Priyanka Chiguruupati, Executive Director of Granules India made an elegant style statement at Cannes with a look that blended heritage craftsmanship with contemporary confidence.

Known among Hyderabad’s fashion enthusiasts for her distinctive style sensibilities, Priyanka chose a rich Benaras drape from Ekaya Banaras for her red carpet appearance. The saree in brown accented with floral motifs in copper, brought together understated luxury and timeless Indian craftsmanship. Elevating the ensemble was a dramatic cape that added movement and a modern silhouette to the traditional weave.

Styled by stylist Leepakshi Ellawadi, the look embraced depth, structure and individuality rather than conventional red-carpet glamour.

The jewellery added another layer of character. Priyanka accessorised the look with bold statement pieces from Kavyapotluri Jewellery featuring striking finger rings, sculptural ear cuffs and contemporary statement accents that complemented the earthy metallic palette of the ensemble.

The aesthetic direction moved away from soft glamour, opting instead for deep, dramatic makeup tones that amplified the overall visual impact. The styling note behind the look captured its essence perfectly: fashion is not merely about appearance, but about confidence, individuality and presence.

The ensemble also highlighted a larger narrative around Indian design. Ekaya Banaras continues to reinterpret traditional Banarasi textiles for modern audiences, preserving heritage weaving while introducing contemporary design language. Meanwhile, Kavyapotluri Jewellery’s bold artistic pieces reflected a move towards expressive jewellery that becomes an extension of personality.

For her Cannes debut, Priyanka Chigurupati did not just wear fashion — she presented a thoughtful blend of heritage, modernity and self-expression on an international stage.

For Priyanka, it was a fashion statement with purpose and presence.
