“Geetha Govindam gave me a huge confidence as a director. It made me believe that I can make a ₹ 150 Crore film. It changed my thought process,” director Parasuram shares the inspiration behind the making of ‘Sarkaru Vaari Paata’ set to release on May 12.
Director Parasuram’s “Geetha Govindam” with Vijay Devarakonda and Rashmika Mandana was a big hit, and introduced to the industry the great love pair with amazing chemistry plus a director, who knows to churn out a good love story. Cut to present, he is gearing up for the release of ‘Sarkaru Vaari Paata’ with superstar Mahesh Babu and Keerthy Suresh in the lead. The trailer of the film hit the fastest views of 25 millions and still counting, and shows the darling of the class and mass audience in a chilled out character with a swag that reminded people of his massively successful ‘Pokiri’.
Mahesh Babu:
“SVP Is an out and out commercial entertainer, Mahesh Babu’s character will be next level. Even if there is a hit like ‘Geetha Govindam’ for a medium range director, some may question as to how superstar Mahesh Babu had given a chance to me, but everyone will be happy after seeing the film.”
Story, a big plus:
Off late Mahesh Babu has been choosing films with an underlying track of social issue and message. The trailer does reflect the kind of witty one lines, and impactful dialogues, which the director says reflects the essence of the film. “A story that takes place between the people of two different mind sets. It involves a bank topic but Mahesh Babu is not a bank employee. Also this story is not about a person but questioning the system. A story written with good intentions. It has been a fun story to tell,” he explains.
Yet another aspect the fans are delighted about is the new angle to hero’s characterization, away from the regular. Parasuram attributes it to the way the character behaves in the film.
The Heroine Factor:
He is happy to have Keerthy Suresh as the female lead. “Keerthy Suresh has the strongest character in this. It is very crucial in the story. After watching the movie, Keerthy will be talked about as much as Mahesh Babu.”
The songs and dances are massive like what they must be in a big budgeted entertainer. But this time Director Parasuram did not go with GopiSunder, who gave him amazing hits in ‘Geetha Govindam’. Instead he chose to go with the hit master of the season Thaman.
Thaman’s Music Does Not Follow Pattern in SVP:
“I do not follow any pattern for songs in a film. I need strong situation and lead to place a song. I am also very particular about the tune and the lyrics. “Sarkaru Vaari Paata” has wonderful moments for the songs. The song comes where it is needed. All the songs are going to be awesome. Gopi Sundar always has a special place in my heart. But, he was very busy when I wanted him for the film. Nearly eight projects were in his hands. Thaman gave the chartbuster album. All the songs came out awesome. Thaman worked in unique style for Sarkaru Vaari Paata songs.And, the dances will thrill the audience,” he shares.
Sekhar master has done the dance choreography for the film.
‘Pokiri’ Inspiration
Director Parasuram says his inspiration for writing dialogues are Puri Jagan and Trivikram. There is one dialogue that finds a place in the trailer inspired by Puri’s ‘Pokiri’. “He was happy when I told him I was doing a film with Mahesh. He called me after seeing the trailer. Puri liked the dialogue ‘This is Mahesh reporting from Chepalapuda Beach Sir’.”
An admirer of erstwhile chief minister YSR – he has introduced a typical dialogue ‘Nenu Vinnanu…Nenu Unnanu’. I’m a fan of late YSR garu. YS Jagan garu continuing his legacy. ‘Nenu Vinnanu Nenu Vunnanu’ is a perfect line that is so apt for the specific scene in our film. I told the dialogue to Mahesh in the first sitting itself, he has no problems because there is no political connect to the story.
Refuting the rumours that he wrote the story for Allu Arjun, he clarifies, “I wrote this story for Mahesh Babu. By the grace of God he accepted to do it. My dream was to do a movie with Mahesh Babu. Sarkaru Vaari Paata fulfilled that dream. My next movie will be produced by 14 Reels with Naga Chaitanya as the hero.”
