No, I don’t like the purple lipstick on Aishwarya Rai. However, one must give it to her for experimenting with her look – since she doesn’t do it much often. And, for some reason I imagine the lipstick on Sonam Kapoor and I guess she can carry it with much more aplomb.
Anyway, Sonam Kapoor released her red carpet looks through the day. And for starters she too sported what seems to be the hot favourite of the season – the cape. She made a dramatic first appearance on red carpet in a white Ralph & Russo along with a cape embroidered in silk thread and beads running over one shoulder to form a train and the counter train attached to the waist, and all the jewellery that she wore is an embroidered choker that seems to have been made out of fabric, a white rock on her finger and stud earrings. She highlighted the edges of her eye lids in white and effect was quite interesting.
Earlier to this she appeared for a press conference in Indian designer Anamika Khanna’s outfit, simple, and accessorized by Hyderabad-based jewelry designer Suhani Pittie’s jewelry (she posted this on Instagram). And then there was this bright blue and black sari inspired gown designed by Rimzim Dadi, and looked elegant in hair tied in a bun; she wore Suhani Pittie’s floral ear studs with links. Later, she made it to yet another press meet in an elegant Ralph & Russo knee length one-piece flared dress. My verdict, she managed to look elegant, vivacious, ethereal and a lot of other things with each look. That sari inspired gown makes her look like the 70s Bollywood heroine, and very contemporary at the same time.
Her recent red carpet look released by her publicity guys taken just before the screening of the French film, ‘Mal De Pierres’ today, shows her in a custom gown in cream with ruffled trail designed by Ralph & Russo and this stunning neck piece, made of precious metal.
And that reminds me of this neck thing worn by Aishwarya yesterday over the gold Ali Younes gown – well I did check around. It is a piece from Boucheron. For the screening of her film ‘Sarbjit’ today, she sported an Indo-western look with one of those famed long jackets by Rohit Bal.
