Golden Horizon: A Contemplative Group Art Exhibition Opens at State Gallery of Art

Golden Horizon, a group art exhibition curated by artist Ramani Mylavarapu, opened at the State Gallery of Art, Kavuri Hills, Hyderabad, on Thursday, 8 January 2026, with an inauguration scheduled for 5:00 PM. The exhibition will be open to the public from 9 to 11 January 2026, between 10:30 AM and 7:00 PM.

Conceived as a reflective exploration of renewal, abundance, and quiet optimism, Golden Horizon draws inspiration from the cultural rhythm of the New Year and the harvest festival of Sankranthi. The exhibition brings together the works of fourteen eminent artists, presenting a rich visual dialogue that traverses themes of light, land, memory, and lived experience through a blend of contemporary and traditional artistic languages.

At the heart of the exhibition lies the idea of the “golden horizon” as a metaphorical threshold—a space of transition where personal histories intersect with collective memory. The artworks invite viewers to slow down and engage in introspection, reconnecting with nature, cultural continuity, and inner reflection at a time marked by renewal and celebration.

The participating artists are Thota Vaikuntam, V. Ramesh, Ramesh Gorjala, Sesha Brahmam, H. R. Devulapalli, Anjani Reddy, Sanjay Ashtaputre, Sachin Jaltare, Fawad Tamkanat, Laxman Aelay, Bhaskar Rao Botcha, Ramani Mylavarapu, Sumanto Chowdhury, and A. Rajeswara Rao, each contributing a distinct visual voice that enriches the collective narrative of the exhibition.

The inauguration will be graced by Maganti Murali Mohan, Veteran Actor and Former Member of Parliament, as the Chief Guest. Dr. K. Lakshmi, IAS, Managing Director, Telangana Warehousing Corporation and Director, State Gallery of Art, along with Srinath Kurra, Managing Director, Alekhya Homes, will attend as Guests of Honour.

Golden Horizon promises to be a thoughtful and immersive artistic experience, offering audiences an opportunity to engage with contemporary Indian art while reflecting on themes of continuity, hope, and cultural grounding at the start of a new year.
