“I am tired. I have stopped. I have lost.”
It is an unexpected way to introduce the warrior that Mysaa has been promising us.
Rashmika Mandanna transforms into the fierce Mysaa in Rawindra Pulle’s emotional action thriller.
The teaser of Rawindra Pulle’s Mysaa begins with Rashmika Mandanna not as an invincible action heroine, but as a Gond woman seemingly at the end of her strength. There is despair, frustration and helplessness. Then something snaps.
What follows is an explosion of anger and violence. Mysaa fights, runs through difficult terrain, plunges underwater and attacks with startling ferocity. Mud, water, blood and fire fill the frames as the woman who begins the teaser defeated transforms into someone capable of waging war.
That transformation is the most compelling promise of the Mysaa teaser.
The makers describe Mysaa: A Daughter’s Promise as a high-octane emotional action thriller set in the culturally rich world of the Gond tribes. The teaser keeps the story deliberately elusive, but establishes its emotional trajectory clearly: pain becomes rage and rage becomes resistance.
## Rashmika Mandanna gets a fierce new face
Rashmika has played strong, angry and rebellious women before, but Mysaa appears determined to push her into much more physically brutal territory.
The teaser strips away much of the glamour associated with her star image. Mysaa is bruised, drenched, covered in mud and blood, and repeatedly thrown into the middle of the action. One of the most striking sequences takes her underwater, where the violence continues rather than pauses. 
At the teaser launch, Rashmika spoke about just how demanding that transformation has been. She described Mysaa as new territory for her, recalling shoots through forests, hills and waterfalls and long periods spent filming underwater. She also spoke about suffering a hip injury during the physically intensive production.
Rawindra Pulle, meanwhile, has been clear that this contrast is intentional: the familiar image of the “cute” and “sweet” Rashmika is being dismantled to reveal a bloodied, angry and far more dangerous screen persona.
That is precisely what the teaser sells.
Behind those brutal action sequences
There is considerable preparation behind the physicality we see on screen.
Rashmika underwent an intensive stunt and combat boot camp in Bangkok ahead of a major action schedule in Kerala, reportedly training for around eight hours a day in advanced stunt techniques and hand-to-hand combat. International action director Andy Long supervised the action, while Thai stunt master Kecha Khampakdee has choreographed high-voltage sequences for the film. 
Long’s involvement with Mysaa goes back to its earlier production phase; the film’s official first-glimpse credits named him as action director. The newly released teaser, meanwhile, credits Kecha for action.
The distinction matters because the action in the teaser does not feel like an occasional addition to the drama. Physical struggle appears fundamental to Mysaa herself. She gets hurt, fights back and keeps going. The idea seems to be less about making Rashmika look like an untouchable action hero and more about showing what her character has to put her body through.
But where does all this anger come from?
For all the bloodshed, Mysaa is being positioned as an emotional action thriller, and its subtitle, A Daughter’s Promise, may provide the biggest clue to the story.
The teaser begins with defeat rather than revenge. Mysaa appears to have reached a point where she believes she has lost everything before that despair gives way to fury.
That makes the opening more important than some of the spectacular action that follows.
What happened to this woman?
What turns her from someone who says she has lost into the “weapon” who can decide a war?
The teaser wisely does not answer those questions.
Instead, it sells the journey between those two versions of Mysaa.
A Gond woman at the centre
Mysaa is explicitly identified as a Gond woman, with the film being set against the world of the Gond tribes.
Pulle has also spoken at the launch about the Gond setting and the significance of Gussadi Deeksha within the film. That adds another expectation beyond the action: how deeply will the story engage with the culture it draws from?
The teaser gives us forests, community, costumes and rituals, but understandably reveals too little to judge how integral Gond identity will ultimately be to the narrative. When the film arrives, that authenticity will matter. The tribal world cannot simply remain an arresting visual backdrop for a familiar revenge story.
## Jakes Bejoy amplifies the anger
Jakes Bejoy’s music is crucial to the teaser’s momentum.
The score begins around Mysaa’s emotional exhaustion and rises with her anger until the music, rapid editing and action seem to move with the character herself. Shreyaas Krishna’s cinematography adds another layer: water, earth, forests, fire and blood give the teaser a raw, elemental texture rather than the sheen of conventional star-driven action.
And through it all, Rashmika remains firmly at the centre.
That may be the teaser’s biggest achievement. It does not merely announce that Rashmika Mandanna is doing action. It tries to show us why Mysaa becomes capable of such violence.
After releasing the teaser, Rashmika described the character audiences are about to meet as unlike anything they have seen from her before, with “a storm waiting to come out.” 
The teaser has shown us that storm.
What Mysaa now needs to reveal is what caused it.
Mysaa, starring Rashmika Mandanna alongside Eshwari Rao, Rahul Ravindran, Samuthirakani, Rao Ramesh, Shiva Kandukuri, Tarak Ponnappa and Nidhi Singh, is scheduled to release worldwide on November 27, 2026.
