“Mahesh Babu Was the Perfect Choice for Okkadu,
Prabhas for Varsham,
Siddharth for Nuvvostanante Nenoddantana,
Uday Kiran for Manasantha Nuvve –
Likewise, Every Actor in Agadha Is the Perfect Fit”:
-M.S. Raju at Agadha Trailer Launch
“I Will Continue Making Films for as Long as I Breathe”: M.S. Raju
Produced by Kashi Visalakshi Balusu under the Sri Adi Varaha Productions banner and presented by Ajay KR, Agadha is written and directed by renowned filmmaker M.S. Raju. The film stars Kamakshi Bhaskarla, Shravan Reddy, Ulka Gupta, Jovika Vijaykumar, Bhanu Chander, Shiju, Vanitha Vijaykumar, Roshan Basheer, Shreya Rani Reddy, Viva Raghava, Robert Master, Arna Muller, and Kanakavva in pivotal roles.
The film is slated for a grand theatrical release on August 14. Ahead of its release, the makers unveiled the trailer at a grand event on Monday. Dr. KVLN Raju attended the event as the chief guest.
M.S. Raju Speaks
“Thank you to everyone who came to the Agadha trailer launch. I hope you all liked the trailer. I am grateful to Ajay garu and Kashi Visalakshi garu for standing by me throughout this journey. Even The Origin of Agadha received an overwhelming response and went viral.
In the coming promotional events, I’ll speak more about every member of our team. Agadha is releasing on August 14, which I consider to be a very auspicious date. I sincerely hope every film releasing that day turns out to be a success. Audiences always encourage films that offer quality content.
Agadha was by no means an easy film to make. Despite its extensive VFX and graphics work, we completed it within a year. Rakesh has delivered a phenomenal musical score. Making a purely devotional film itself is a challenge, so we have carefully blended spiritual elements with entertainment that appeals to today’s youth and Gen Z audiences.
Retirement has never appealed to me. As long as I have breath in me, I will continue making films. I always cast actors based solely on who best fits the character. Just as Mahesh Babu was the perfect choice for Okkadu, Prabhas for Varsham, Siddharth for Nuvvostanante Nenoddantana, and Uday Kiran for Manasantha Nuvve, every actor in Agadha is perfectly cast. Shravan, Kamakshi, Jovika, and Ulka have all delivered exceptional performances.
At this stage of my career, I want to explore stories I haven’t attempted before. As a child, I suffered from a severe respiratory illness and had to stay away from school for several days. That experience remained deeply etched in my memory and became one of the inspirations behind Agadha.
I hope audiences wholeheartedly support our film. We are planning a wide release and are confident of a strong opening. We have already completed dubbing in multiple languages. However, many advised us to focus on Telugu first, so we are prioritizing our home audience instead of rushing promotions across other markets.
Initially, our overseas distributor wanted to release the film only on a limited number of screens. After watching the complete film, he was so impressed that he decided to release it on a much larger scale overseas.
Agadha features not only a compelling story but also an entirely fresh and innovative screenplay. During the writing process, I woke up every day at 3 a.m. to work on the script. I believe that hard work will ultimately yield rewarding results.”
Kamakshi Bhaskarla
“Every actress dreams of playing unique and challenging roles. After Polimera, I hadn’t found another character that truly excited me. But when Raju garu narrated Agadha and explained my role, I was genuinely surprised.
The film has given me a wonderful opportunity to prove myself once again as an actress, and I will always remain grateful to him for that. I put my heart into promoting every film I work on, and Agadha is no exception.
I consciously choose roles that are different from one another, and I feel fortunate that filmmakers continue to trust me with such diverse characters. Agadha has transformed me personally. I have become much calmer and more spiritual. On August 14, audiences will finally understand what Agadha truly is.”
Shravan Reddy
“Agadha has been an incredibly special journey for me. I’ve never been inclined towards doing conventional films, and I had complete faith in Raju garu’s vision. We learned so much from him during the making of this film.
After Dirty Hari, he once again entrusted me with a wonderful role in Agadha, and I will always remain thankful for his faith in me.”
Kashi Visalakshi
“I visited the sets during the shoot and witnessed firsthand how brilliantly everyone performed. Until now, people have associated Raju garu with films like Devi and Varsham. After Agadha, they will proudly call him ‘Agadha Raju.’
He has brought the story to life even more beautifully than he narrated it. We are already looking forward to collaborating with him once again.”
Ulka Gupta
“I instantly loved the story when Raju garu narrated Agadha to me. It feels wonderful to return to Telugu cinema after almost ten years.
I’m grateful to him for giving me such a meaningful role. I believe Agadha will become a milestone in my career.”
Jovika Vijaykumar
“Raju garu treats us like family. He explains every scene in remarkable detail and has an extraordinary vision. His narration makes it very easy for actors to understand the emotional depth of every sequence.
I’m delighted that my first film is with a filmmaker like him. It’s a blessing to begin my career with such a distinctive role, and it’s even more special that I got to share screen space with my mother.”
