Ambajipeta Marriage Band trailer: Suhas stands up for his family and seeks vengeance in this rural drama
Suhas, who had an impressive 2023 with releases like Writer Padmabhushan, Disney+ Hotstar’s web show Anger Tales (that he produced along with his friends), is kickstarting this year with a rural drama Ambajipeta Marriage Band. Shivani Nagaram plays the female lead in the film directed by a debutant Dushyanth Katikaneni. Saranya Pradeep, Goparaju Ramana essay key roles too.
The film is all set to hit screens on February 2, which is loaded with several small-budget releases. The trailer of Ambajipeta Marriage Band was launched today in the presence of the cast, crew and media. The story revolves around a small-time barber Malli who’s also part of a marriage band in a village. He lives a rather content life with his elder sister despite several limitations.
Malli soon falls in love with Lakshmi, a girl from an influential family in the village. Trouble brews for the family as a man in the village stalks Malli’s sister, a teacher by profession and plays every trick in the book to threaten and woo her. Later, his brother continues to taunt her. Malli is agitated and raises his voice but is often shown his place by the village heads.
There’s a tragedy within the family and Malli is keen to settle to scores, even if he doesn’t receive much help from cops. The fact that Lakshmi belongs to the same family that’s tormenting him adds to Malli’s woes. Ambajipeta Marriage Band is a story of a class conflict, an underdog standing up for his self-respect with a good blend of emotions, drama, humour, action and romance.
Ambajipeta Marriage Band is among the massier films that Suhas has headlined to date. Jagadeesh Prathap Bhandari, Gayathri Bhargavi are also part of the film produced by Dheeraj Mogilineni and presented by Bunny Vas and actor-director Venkatesh Maha. Wajid Baig is the cinematographer and Kodati Pavan Kalyan is the editor.
