Jack Review – What sets out to be a fun spy thriller that takes off from where DJ Tillu pauses –
ends up to be yet another hit and miss film
Script is the king – and in entertainment business this could mean a well-rounded story based one or even a well scripted mad caper of a film – a no-brainer but fun still with some outstanding comic elements thrown in or an often-repeated formula film backed by good cast and crew. Several movies stand testimony to this.
Yet again one more Telugu film releases in theatres with absolutely no regard to script banking solely on the charm of its lead hero. Jack with Siddhu Jonnalagadda tries to bank on his DJ Tillu image to create an over the top, extremely clever and instinctive detective who works outside the system of RAW no less. Our local James Bond sees what the more privileged RAW agents fail to do and faster at that. This makes RAW chief Prakash Raj wonder about him and a conversation happens. And the film carries on relying on a sloppily done script and a few comic scenes thrown in.
What could have panned out to be a suspense action-based spy thriller and a full-on entertainer turns out to be yet another hit and miss film that fails to impress the audience. Vaishnavi with her Baby success has very little to do in this film. Romantic scenes do not seem convincing. Jack is the case of a film whose trailer is better than the feature version of it. Bommarillu Baskar directed the Telugu film Jack.
The rest of the cast include Naresh, Brahmaji, Shabeer Kallarakkal. The songs were composed by Achu Rajamani and background music scored by Sam CS while the cinematography was done by Vijay K Chakravarthy and it is edited by Navin Nooli. The film is produced by BVSN Prasad under Sri Venkateswara Cine Chitra banner.
