- Minister travels alongside Adivasi participants in the bus to boost morale
- A contingent of 250 tribal members departs from the forest heartlands for Hyderabad
- State Tourism officials to accord a grand welcome at Taramati Baradari later today
A transformative chapter in the history of Telangana’s tourism sector unfolded today as the Minister for Tourism, Culture, and Excise, Jupally Krishna Rao, launched a pioneering ‘Reverse Tourism’ concept. Departing from the conventional trend of urban tourists seeking nature in rural pockets, the Minister initiated the ‘Adivasi Tourism Exposure Programme’ to provide tribal communities with a first-hand look at modern development and historical heritage. The program was officially flagged off on Wednesday at Gondu Guda in Utnoor Mandal, Adilabad District.
Highlighting the vision behind this initiative, Minister Jupally Krishna Rao stated that the program was designed to provide Adivasis with fresh perspectives, introduce them to urban lifestyles, and bolster their self-confidence. He emphasized that the ultimate goal is to facilitate cultural exchange and bridge the gap between two distinct ways of life, eventually elevating the living standards of tribal communities.
Ministerial Connection with the Community
In a notable gesture, Minister Jupally joined the participants on the bus, traveling with them to engage in direct dialogue. During the journey, he interacted with the tribal youth and elders, explaining the significance of the tour. “Connecting with the world beyond the forest will instill a sense of confidence in these children. By witnessing the pace of development in the city, they should be inspired to pursue higher education and excel in their chosen fields. Real change in living standards begins with education and exposure,” the Minister remarked.
A Bridge Between Heritage and Modernity
The Minister noted that this program serves as a vital bridge between the unique Adivasi culture and modern urban civilization. The first contingent of 250 participants, traveling in a fleet of five air-conditioned buses, is scheduled to reach Taramati Baradari in Hyderabad by 2:00 PM today. Over the next two days, the group will visit iconic landmarks including the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport, Charminar, Golconda Fort, Lumbini Park, and Shilparamam.
The launch ceremony was attended by Khanapur MLA Vedma Bojju, District Collector Rajarshi Shah, SP Akhil Mahajan, ITDA PO Yuvraj Marmat, and Library Corporation Chairman Anil Kumar Kamde. Other prominent attendees included DCC President Naresh Jadhav, Athram Suguna, and senior leaders Athram Sakku, Soyam Bapu Rao, and Ade Gajender.
