Inside Rumours: Tamannaah Bhatia’s Bollywood Shift and the Quiet Push Behind the Scenes
According to industry inside rumours, Tamannaah Bhatia appears to be making a clear and carefully planned move towards Bollywood, while quietly stepping back from routine roles in the South. Several projects are said to be in discussion, though most remain unofficial and tightly guarded.
One of the most talked-about possibilities is Love and War, where Tamannaah is reportedly being considered for a period-style item number with an extended cameo. Sources say the role would feature grand visuals and the classic, elegant treatment often given to heroines in Sanjay Leela Bhansali films.
She is also believed to be a strong contender for Crew 2. With Kriti Sanon and Tabu yet to be formally approached, and producer Shobha Kapoor strengthening ties with Ekta Kapoor through Vvan, Tamannaah is said to be in the running for the third air-hostess role.
Another project doing the rounds is Naagzilla. Tamannaah was reportedly locked for a six-day extended cameo that was being promoted as a “heroine role”. However, she is said to have exited at the last minute to focus on Vvan and the promotion of O’Romeo. Some insiders also feel recent controversies linked to Kartik Aaryan’s film may have played a part.
Talks are also ongoing with T-Series for two projects, currently referred to as T-174 and T-178, though no details have been revealed so far.
Within the Maddock Horror Universe, Tamannaah and director Amar Kaushik are said to be pitching a small return of her character Shama from Stree 2 in future films. Meanwhile, Luv Ranjan is reportedly keen to work with her opposite Kartik Aaryan after being impressed by her performance in the upcoming jungle adventure Rangers.
Rohit Shetty is also said to want Tamannaah for a brief role in Golmaal 5. The two are already working together on the Rakesh Maria biopic starring John Abraham, scheduled for 2026.
On the southern front, insiders claim Tamannaah has turned down nearly seven major Telugu and Tamil films opposite top stars. This is seen as a clear signal that she is moving away from “flowerpot” roles and focusing on performance-driven parts. She has already shot around 13.5 minutes for Jailer 2, though it remains to be seen how much will make the final cut. She is also attached to two other Tamil projects still in development.
