Scheduled for Saturday, May 10th at 6:30 PM, the ceremony marks the official inauguration of the iconic global event, bringing together representatives from 110 nations in a breathtaking celebration of culture, beauty, and unity.
This year, the Miss World Inaugural Ceremony goes beyond glamour—it becomes a tribute to the soul of Telangana. With a vibrant parade-style presentation of traditional folk and tribal performances, the evening promises to highlight the rich and diverse cultural heritage of the region. Curated by the Telangana Department of Culture, the programme will serve as a powerful cultural showcase, capturing the spirit, rhythm, and artistic legacy of the state.
The evening begins on a soulful note with the official theme song, penned by Telangana poet Ande Sri and composed by Academy Award-winning music director MM Keeravani. The grand opening act features a chorus of 50 students trained by senior classical music guru Komanduri Seshagiri, setting a devotional and majestic tone for the evening.
Mamidi Harikrishna, Director, Department of Language and Culture, Government of Telangana shared about the preparations towards the prestigious event on his social media handle. He shared, “In one of the largest performances of its kind, 250 women Perini dancers will take the stage to present the ancient warrior dance form of Telangana, choreographed by renowned dance exponent Perini Sandeep. The powerful performance will include breathtaking formations symbolizing a star, butterfly, and the iconic Miss World logo—creating a seamless blend of tradition and global identity. The musical compositions for this act have been crafted by noted composer Phani Narayana Rao.”
Following the cultural introduction, the spotlight will shift to the contestants, as Miss World participants from across continents are introduced in a dazzling procession, each accompanied by performances rooted in Telangana’s tribal and folk heritage. The Sri Ramakrishna troupe will lead with a vibrant Kommu Koya dance presentation from the Godavari catchment area near Bhadrachalam. They will be followed by a powerful Gusadi dance performance, a traditional art form of the Gond tribe from Adilabad, choreographed by the team of Sri Katle Sridhar.
Banjara women dancers, representing the nomadic and tribal spirit of Telangana, will perform under the guidance of Shri Ande Bhaskar, a recipient of the Ustad Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar. Their rhythmic expressions, supported by the Swapna Group, promise to be a colourful and emotive highlight of the evening.
The cultural extravaganza concludes with a vibrant Oggudolu performance, which captures the rural vibrancy and village traditions of Telangana. This piece will be performed by a team led by Sri Chowdarapalli Ravi Kumar, another Ustad Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar awardee, bringing the essence of Telangana’s grassroots artistry to the world stage.
