Mihir and Amit, founders of Bar Stock Exchange open Hyderabad outlet

Hyderabad’s very own Bar Stock Exchange opened at Jubilee Hills, probably the largest outlet so far, say the founders Mihir and Amit

Mihir Desai and Amit Singh have been friends since childhood, and shared one common interest, entrepreneurship. The duo dabbled in a few things before venturing successfully into the business of hospitality. Mihir on one of his trips abroad saw beer being sold like stock – fluctuating with real-time demand, and an idea struck. Thus was born the first Bar Stock Exchange; a well known story of a concept that is fun and profitable too. Rates of the drinks are displayed on the board (straight drinks from leading brands and a few popular cocktails) and orders are placed accordingly.

Bar Stock Exchange Roof TopThe two friends learnt to run this novel concept from a lot of hard work, trial and error. They have memories of how on the opening day they stood all the time and manually took orders before a system was put in place and technology was adopted. Today the algorithm calculates the price based on demand and it is like you are in control of the prices.

Most of the Bar Stock Exchange outlets until now are in Mumbai and Pune. For the first time in Hyderabad, the young entrepreneurs who even made it to Forbes India cover decided to start an outlet , which was set to open last year, but pandemic delayed things. The beautifully done up Bar Stock Exchange is on two levels (rooftop is indeed gorgeous with igloo-like private spaces, dash of greenery and generally a chilled out vibe).

Mihir says Hyderabad is like nowhere else, and he feels it’s the most beautiful of their outlets. The food menu at Bar Stock Exchange on Road No 36, Jubilee Hills, Hyderabad is surely something to talk about as well.

Mihir explains, “Long before #VocalForLocal became a trend, we at The Bar Stock Exchange, were doing exactly the same, regional local food has always been an integral part of the food menu at TBSE. The food menu is carefully curated and peppered with flavour profiles across length and breadth of India. Some of the items invoke a strong sense of nostalgia and it helps to give the guest an array of our special dishes to choose from like the Missal Pav Fondue, Chicken Tikka Popcorn, Kodi Avakai, Tillewaala Paneer. Along with crowd pleasers like the Fully Loaded Nachos, exquisite Tikkas and Kebabs and mouthwatering Oriental dishes.”
